When I stumbled across the video about chimps in the wild passing down the use of Machetes from generation to generation I wasn’t that surprised. The story goes that African dictator, Idi Amin, trained chimps to use machetes and attack intruders that might attack his palace in the jungle. After he was overthrown the chimps went back to the wild but kept their machetes and passed on how to use them from generation to generation. I didn’t have any reason to doubt this as is all fits with everything we’ve talked about on this site: Chimps already hunt other animals, declare war against neighbouring chimp clans and even attack humans. Hell they even develop substance abuse problems just like us.
But then as I tracked down more info on these simians I found that the video is just a marketing tool for the Planet of the Apes reboot: Rise of the Planet of the Apes Well played Fox, well played indeed.
Marketing tool my ASS.
That’s the cover story.
The reality is far more bleak…..
Where, do they get ammunition? And, how to they take care of those guns they passed down from generation to generation?
AH, oops I misread they only pass down machetes! And, according to the marketing video it’s only like 12 of them. So, should they exist it should be easy deal with them. They can’t win!
Apparently you missed the graphic I put up. Also, considering chimps are what…12 times stronger than humans, a chimp wielding an old blood stained machete is like facing off with….well, a chimp wielding an old blood stained machete actually.
This is frankly absurd.
No animal will ever be able to master the glorious arts of Ninjitsu, Aikido or etc. It is an impossibility.
And, I have REAL WORLD experience, and I can tell you, there is no such thing as a CHIMP ASSASIN or whatever. That is some photoshop magical moves for certain.
Respect. Training. Courage.
